My review and perspective on model: 9633400 vacuum cleaner

Shop-Vac has stayed true to their roots and I can admire them for that. They built a machine that worked and have stuck with it. The suction on these is decent, and it's nice for a garage vacuum. This is really a residential vacuum, but I put it in the residential / commercial section because you'll see a lot of these used during construction jobs. One of the biggest complaints about these is that the hose doesn't stay put very well. I use an industrial glue to hold them in place often, but that limits the capabilities of the vacuum as once you do so it makes it harder to empty the bucket, and you can't use the hose on the blower side. Most people end up duct taping the hose in place, then it can be switched around still. Over all it's a good vacuum for a shop, garage, or even light construction jobs. Another word of caution is that if you do use these to suck up liquids empty it quickly and leave the top off so it can breathe over night. The biggest issue I see with these is people leave water in the bucket for weeks on end and it causes the bearings in the motor to rust, an easy fix for any qualified vacuum technician, but down time I'm sure you won't want. Also if you try to turn the motor on with the locked up bearings you can burn out the motor real quick making the whole vacuum worthless.

I have reviewed it accordingly, the price point of the 9633400 is set for the Commercial / Residential industry which should be taken into consideration when purchasing or thinking about purchasing this vacuum. Commercial vacuum cleaners may be built to last longer and endure more abuse, but are more expensive and may be lacking some of the luxuries (such as light weight, or low noise) that you are accustomed to. On the contrary Residential vacuums are made at lower price points, lower quality, but are often lighter and quieter to use.
